The Tablet - bit included in my opus after reading April's Wired
Information.
Information (/info): Creates the hilltop to stand on. Shouting down to multiples, it bookends life itself.
The first source came from faith-filled authority. Outside of the slate stone, this authority chipped away at the bodies. A message from the sky everyone took as "word".
Then, it was painted, a surface coating which became the body layers, formed by the recognized and everyone became their own authors.
Finally, it was embedded again by another faith-filled authority -- this time from the inside coded, with a different message appearing to those on the outside. The inside authors, the only credible ones.
Those authors have created the PIS (Personal Information Source) today. Everything you could possibly want or need is on your PIS: Up-to-date news feeds, customized settings for maintaining your home, office, pet. The post-file, post-reflexive ear. The Informer declared it as the end of human text's viability for innovation – and everyone listened. They listened through their PISs.
Because why would you save, or compose, or contemplate when the answers are literally at your proverbial fingertips, seared into the greatest of information bodies a few swipes away?
