Benvenuto gets heavy
Above is an original essay written by myself exactly a year ago. It is about Yann Martel's Life of Pi and its concept of spirituality. It was published on my old blog last summer when I discovered it was the only reason I got out of Can. Lit alive, completing my English major and allowing me to graduate.
Thesis: Infinity can only be realized through the transcendence of uncontained perspective. Martel’s account of Pi presents the notion of spirituality as the human approaching the unbound, transcendental and thus, infinite.
I'm posting this again because a family member of mine needs to read this. Revolution is nothing new, but you get caught, trapped on a roundabout, unless you try and move against its pull, towards its axis. Religion is one of those roundabouts, a label.
